Loveland Castle

High above the beautiful Little Miami River Valley, Loveland Castle (Château Laroche) is one of Ohio’s most unusual and interesting attractions. Harry D. Andrews, a mediaeval buff and WWI veteran, built the castle stone by stone from 1929. Modelled after European fortresses, it was built as a permanent tribute to history, chivalry and craftsmanship.

Today, visitors to Loveland Castle can tour the stone towers, courtyards, secret passageways and museum displays of mediaeval artefacts, armour, weaponry and memorabilia of days gone by. The castle is located on top of a hill that offers visitors spectacular views of the Little Miami River and surrounding woodlands and is a favourite with photographers, families and history buffs.

Visitors can take a stroll around the grounds, learn about the amazing story behind the building of the castle and experience a rare piece of medieval-inspired architecture in the heart of Southwest Ohio. If you are a history buff, architecture lover, or just looking for something out of the ordinary, Loveland Castle offers an unforgettable journey into a world of knights, legends, and timeless craftsmanship.
